Paws for Pride
Congratulations to last week’s Paws for PRIDE winners: Levi (Mrs. Gillen), Ethan (Miss Henry), Hetvi (Mrs. Silvers), Bane (Mrs. Meehan), Siya (Mrs. Nero), Lucas (Mrs. Bucher), Billy (Mr. Behling), Mr. Michener, and Miss Spohn’s 6th grade class
Keep up the great work, tigers and thank you for demonstrating our traits (Pride, Respect, Individual Responsibility, Determination, and Empathy)!
Lower Barness Road Construction Update
No parking signs will be posted throughout Upper and Lower Barness Roads providing notification of the paving next week.
Thank you again for your support and patience during this construction time period.
Label, Label, Label
Thank you in advance for your help!
Winter Parties
All volunteers are asked to please park in the back parking lot to ease congestion in our main lot. Parent volunteers must check in with the main office when they arrive and must have the proper clearances on file. Any parent who will be picking up their child in the car line on December 22nd is asked to not arrive prior to 3pm due to the ending of afternoon classroom parties and the congestion in our parking lot.
Thank you in advance for your time on this day.
History Club
We had a great fall session of the 5th and 6th Grade History Club! Our final meeting is December 14th. A new session will begin in February, so watch the Tiger Times in January for registration information. We welcome new and returning members, but there is a limit to how many participants we can accommodate.
Car Line PM Dismissal
We are asking for your assistance by not arriving for carline prior to 3pm. Our back gate will not open until this time so that our students and teachers may continue to utilize the back lot in the afternoon. Due to the size of our parking lot when cars line up early, it makes it difficult for others to enter and exit the parking lot.
Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation!
Early Dismissal Reminders
In addition, if you are planning to pick your child up prior to the end of the school day, the last time we will be able to accommodate early dismissal from the main office will be at 3pm, in order for everyone to prepare for dismissal. Anyone wishing to pick up their child after 3pm, should utilize the car line for dismissal.
The main office thanks you for your cooperation.

Sparks
As parents, we have had to consider the impact of the last 18 month on our children. Steven Mintz, an historian at the University of Texas at Austin and author of “Huck’s Raft: A History of American Childhood,” believes that traumatic events can leave “invisible scars” that might shape the character of a generation. However, recent studies have indicated that this might take the form of being more focused about the future such as their place in the world and a stronger commitment to social issues. Although we may see a cautious approach from our children, they may also be energized and optimistic about what lies ahead. Students may find themselves exploring new career paths and ready to take action. This is where we may see the resiliency and empathy that many young people have when faced with struggles. Losing time in the past year can be seen as a negative but also as an opportunity to appreciate what is ahead. Take a moment and ask your daughter or son what the future looks like. Can they connect their thoughts to the career education activities they are working on this school year in Smart Futures and Naviance?

Box Tops
Did you know that you can earn money for Titus just by buying groceries?
That’s right! You can help support the Titus Home and School Association by utilizing the Box Tops for Education program in any (or all) of the following ways!
1) Download the Box Tops for Education App and scan your receipt every time you shop in store.
2) Create an account at www.boxtops4education.com and forward your digital receipts (from online grocery shopping) to receipts@boxtops4education.com for credit.
3) Collect the older “clip” version of Box Tops (the ones you cut out that have an expiration date) and send them to school in a baggie labeled with your child’s teacher’s name. There is a collection box in the main office.
4) Don’t want to bother with the app or email? Send in your grocery receipts to school and we’ll take care of the scanning. Label the receipt with your child’s teacher’s name and have your child place it in the Box Tops collection bin in the main office. (All receipts must be received within 7 days of purchase to allow time for scanning before they expire.)
Every little bit helps! If you have any questions about the Box Tops program or need help with the app, contact Stephanie Wolff at srwolff2@verizon.net.
