Thank You.
The last few days have been nothing short of amazing. This weekend, I had the opportunity to visit some of our buildings as teachers were getting rooms ready. The spirit of collaboration is alive and well in the Tuscaloosa City Schools. I know there are lots of logistics to be completed with relocation and construction projects. However, I saw friendly faces who were extending grace to other colleagues helping to get buildings ready for day one. The collective drive of this district to ensure that the first day is a successful one has not gone unnoticed by others in our community. In fact, I received a phone call about a bus driver who was confirming bus stops in a neighborhood on personal time.
This is the level of commitment we need to meet our mission.
The energy and excitement from you, our staff, has caused me to reflect on my passion for the work we share. In order to keep up with the amazing things going on in the system, I know I will have to ramp up my efforts. Thank you for pushing me. Thank you for pushing our students to excel.
Remember, we cannot let our expectations drop for a single student and that starts tomorrow.
Have a great first day!
