The rebellion over taxes on acoholic beverages.
Why it happened.
The Whisky Rebellion started when taxes were put on alcoholic beverages. The taxes on beverages infuriated the community in early America because alcohol was a very popular drink. The reason why taxes were put on alcohol is because the government saw it as a way to even out financial imbalances between the people and the government
Because of the rebellion, the people would not fight for the government. The people refused to go to the battlefront, so Washington had to lead a group of men himself into the battlefield. After the rebellion the government decided to take off the taxes as they saw that the people would go to any measure to get the taxes off.
