Whirlwind Week
What a whirlwind of a week this has been. As the year starts to wrap up things always seem to get a bit chaotic. Thank you to all of you for keeping the routines running and the students engaged. I was doing random temperature checks in rooms this week (Chiller is operational now!) and was able to witness a lot of fun activities and students engaged in learning. There was a catsup and mustard day (to which I still can't find the hot dogs), there were students experimenting with circuits, and others incorporating trips outside into the routine.
As we wind up this teacher appreciation week, I thought you might like to read this. It is slightly off topic from Friday Focus, but it sure hits home with all that you do for the students here at MMS. Be sure to let your friends, family, and people know how lucky they are to have you around!
It's PumpTrack Time!
Ms. Miller's PHW class is enjoying the bike trails around Lake Mitchell. What a great week to get out and bike!
Courage is this week's theme
Mrs. Hearnen has invited several guest speakers to talk to her ELA class about courage. Wednesday Thomas Mudat was here talking to a packed library. Today was Anne Anderson, former teacher. She captivated the audience as well.
Band, Jazz Band, and MS drumline
Mr. Jamison and Mr. Stahle put on a phenomenal performance Tuesday night at the PAC. The music was great. If you look closely at this picture you will see that the drums are larger than most of the kids playing them!

Take 5 seconds and watch this
Thank Mrs. Kalovsky for this great idea on how you could incorporate spinners into your classroom!
Five Points of Discussion for Friday
- The band concert this week- A lot of great solos and performances! Ask them how they did!
- Track was at Brandon last night. Did anyone PR?
- Tennis had two meets this week as well
- Summer plans, vacations, camps, or just lounging by the pool?
- There are a lot of interesting and odd final projects right now (I saw at least one fishing pole Thursday!) What projects are they working on to wrap up the year.
