Back to School Night

As we did in 2019, this year Lines' Back to School Night will take place on two separate evenings; August 29 will be for grades K-2 and August 30 will be grades 3-5. By having two Back to School Nights, we will be able to alleviate some of the congestion in the parking lot, hallways, and gym.

August 29 -- Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade (6:00-7:30 pm)

6:00-6:30 – K, 1st & 2nd grade parents meet with Dr. Hyllberg and staff in the gym

6:30-6:50 – Parents have time to walk around the school, visit teachers, etc.

6:50-7:30 – Classroom presentations with homeroom teachers

August 30 -- 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade (6:00-7:30 pm)

6:00-6:30 – 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade parents meet with Dr. Hyllberg and staff in the gym

6:30-6:50 – Parents have time to walk around the school, visit teachers, etc.

6:50-7:30 – Classroom presentations with homeroom teachers

* Children should not attend Back to School Night...it is a parent only event. Thank you!

Bus ID Cards

Students in elementary grades K-5 will again scan on and off the school bus each day using an ID Card clipped to their backpack by a red plastic coil keychain.

New student ID cards for the 2022-2023 school year will be handed out to families during our Meet the Teacher event on August 19. Families that are unable to attend on August 19 will receive their ID Card on the first day of school.

Returning students should continue to use the red coil keychain that they received last year. A limited amount of replacement coil keychains will be available at the school office for a fee.

ID card replacement fee - $3.00

Bus/ID card plastic holder replacement fee - $2.00

Visitor Procedures

In our district’s continued effort to keep our students and staff safe, remember to bring your driver’s license or state ID when you come to visit/volunteer at Lines. The reason for this is we run your ID through VisitU, our sex offender background check system. After your ID is scanned, you will be issued a visitor lanyard and visitor sticker before being admitted into the building. Every D220 school follows these procedures. For the safety of our students, no exceptions.

Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures

Lines' before school student drop-off and after school student pick-up procedures:

  • Drop students off in the morning between 7:35-7:50; they will walk to the playground until they are brought into the building at the 7:50 bell.

  • Parents who pick their children up after school should not enter the Lines driveway until 2:30 pm (2:00 Wednesdays.)

  • Always pull your vehicle up as far as possible in the drop-off/pick-up line.

  • Drivers should not exit their vehicles when in the drop-off/pick-up line.

  • Cell phone usage in a vehicle in a school zone is against the law (including Bluetooth!)

  • Always yield to school buses.

  • Waves and smiles to the supervisors are always appreciated!
