Nic Stone
The first author visit of the year is right around the corner! The Albany High Library will be hosting Nic Stone on Thursday, December 7th in the UN Room. Nic Stone wrote the young adult novel, Dear Martin. It’s about a 17-year-old African-American boy grappling with his place in the world. He’s a good kid that gets racially profiled one night, while trying to help his drunk ex-girlfriend get home without driving. As a result of this profiling experience, he starts a journal of letters to the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He’s trying to see if Dr. King’s approach to non-violence can work in today’s America. Event registration is on the library website @ albanyfalconlibrary.weebly.com. Please see Mrs. Majkut for more information.
