In divergent, by Veronica Roth, the main character is a young, girl named Beatrice. She has reached the age of sixteen where she is tested and placed in a faction that complements her intuition and character. Her result is a balance of the factions, dauntless, abnegation, and erudite. According to the book, anyone who is Divergent will be killed. I like Beatrice's personality, she’s sharp, and observant, it would seem I would probably be friends with her. However, who I hated with all my heart, was peter, who was a cocky, and rude person. She almost was tossed in a ravine because of him. I had an instant hatred for him. There always has to be that one person to hate in a book.
This book truly was amazing, the vivid language, crazy plot twists, and constant action. But there was something that REALLY amazed me the most; it was the way the author seemed to show exactly what WOULD happen if the United States was separated into factions. Humans do not have just one thing about them. Frankly, every person on earth is divergent. We all have different things about us that make humans like us, such unique beings. Would we really be human if we had one thing about us? We wouldn't be able to LIVE in factions like that. It would tear our country and our government apart, which is exactly what happened in the book. What scares me is that something like that can happen to our country. Our country has the ability to change that much, it’s terrifying. It makes me think: what would happen?
Overall, i loved, and enjoyed this book very much. The vivid language was outstanding, the plot twists were shocking, and there was constant action. There was really nothing i didn't like about it. It was very well thought of, very creative thinking; I don't think I could write a book as creative as this. It’s an amazing book, very much worth the read. If you’re into action or a sci-fi-y kind of in the future book, then this would be the best book for you. This book is full of it. I would recommend this book to everyone, you really won’t regret it, I can guarantee you’ll be hooked.
