Title I Family Engagement

Oak Ridge Elementary Schools

Monthly Newsletter August 2018

Welcome Back Parents!!

We are so excited to have you back in the wonderful Oak Ridge School District!

One of the best things about Oak Ridge Schools is our wonderful students and families! We want you to feel welcome in all of our schools and to participate in as many school events as possible.

Families play an important role in assisting with student learning.

We encourage you to be actively involved in your child's school career.

Studies show that parents who are involved in their child's school will experience better attendance, better grades and higher graduation rates.

One example of our parent/school partnership is through our Family School Compact. This is an agreement between parents, teachers and students on how they will work together to have a successful school year. The compacts will be sent home with your child or will be available at the Title I Annual Meeting/Open House. Please review this and send it back with your child as soon as possible.

Parent University

We have several wonderful events planned this school year! We are starting a Parent University that will take place at rotating elementary schools.

Please see the schedule below and RSVP to AKPeters@ortn.edu if you plan to attend. Thanks to our wonderful Family Resource Center, door prizes will be given out at each event and a $25 gift card will be given to each parent that attends a total of 5 workshops between August and December.
