Execution with Integrity: Timing is Everything
- Arriving to morning duty on time. Even a couple of extra minutes can create a bottleneck that leads to conflicts and altercations.
- Taking attendance on time (More details on the attendance procedure can be found below).
- Respecting the time of your teammates by transitioning between classes on time using the procedures agreed upon by the team. Transition as quickly as possible between classes to avoid conflicts that frequently arise while students are being lined up, are waiting for the rest of the line, etc.
- Arriving to afternoon duty on time.
Below you will find additional information on how we will Execute With Integrity, including:
- Attendance protocols
- Instructional pacing
- Weekly events
- Educator's Handbook procedures

Instructional Focus - Timing and Pacing
- Moving students into classrooms as quickly as possible, rather than laboring with lines in the hallway.
- Making sure that a Do Now/Bell Ringer/etc. is available immediately for students. Questions for consideration: Can this be on the board when students enter? Can any worksheets that are needed be passed out at the door as students enter the room? Can you use a timer to make sure this initial activity takes no more than the first few minutes of class? Can music be playing? Can Do Now work be incentivized (ex: can students earn points for completing the Do Now in the allotted time?)
- Planning lesson that begin with something highly engaging (that both hooks students and sparks thinking and inquiry). Engagement should precede direct instruction, not only come after it.
- Use a variety of ways to get student attention: sound effects, music, claps, chants, etc. (This is a test to see who reads the newsletter: If you read this, send Kemp a text or email. The first 5 people to respond will win a prize.)
- Use timers to swiftly move through the pacing of the lesson.

Educator's Handbook
To assist with student behavior, please make sure we are addressing incidents with consistency. We should also be contacting parents regularly with positive and negative behavior. We are working on school wide incentives along with grade level and classroom incentives. With negative infractions, we must use the protocol in place. Remember for each infraction:
- First Incident- warning
- Second Incident- Parent Contact/Reflection (a reflection can be an assignment in regards to the infraction)
- Third Incident- Parent Contact/Reflection/Classroom Intervention (interventions such as detentions, invitation for parent shadowing, move to another class temporarily)
- Fourth Incident - Meeting with grade level or Connections team + parent conference
- Fifth Incident - Admin Referral
**All incidents and consequences must be placed in Educators Handbook.
**If you make contact with parents not pertaining to an incident or infraction place it in the contact log of Infinite Campus.
