National School Breakfast Week!
In celebration, students will have the opportunity to win a pre-owned Samsung Galaxy Tablet! Each day that a student eats breakfast between March 6-9 they will be entered into a drawing.
- One tablet will be given away per school.
- One entry per day if you eat school breakfast, up to four entries for the week.
- Winner will be randomly selected and announced after Spring Break!
Disclaimer: Tablets are in good condition but are used. he tablets have been reset to factory settings and are in working order. Any issues with the tablet, including but not limited to, hardware, software/apps, or connectivity are the responsibility of the recipient of the tablet and not USD 259. By accepting a used tablet, you agree to ownership of the "as is" device. USD 259 will not provide any repair, maintenance, or support for the giveaway device.

259 and CMA attendance policy
CMA STUDENT ATTENDANCE
Student absences will be excused for the following reasons and have homework available to make up.
1. Personal illness.
2. Death in the family.
3. Weather preventing attendance.
4. Legal requirements, such as a subpoena or other required court attendance.
5. Prior permission by the principal at the request of a parent or guardian.
6. Religious purposes.
***If your student is ill and goes to the doctor, please get a doctor's note, as medical absences are not counted against the student as illness days are. ***
Family Trips
A maximum of 5 days per school year will be counted as excused for family trips. If a family is going on a trip they must email a request to the principal for approval prior to their trip for the absences to be excused.
Tardies
The tardy kiosk will record first hour tardies for all students entering the building after 8:00 a.m. Students who come in late from buses should have a pass the tardy kiosk. Students with kiosk passes will not be marked tardy to first hour.
Summer School info
Summer school will be June 5-29, Monday-Thursday 8a-2p for MS; 9a-3p for Elementary
Sites are based off of addresses. CMA is not a summer school site this year.
Anyone have an extra washer and/or dryer? We are needing a different set...
Does your student feel like they have been bullied or harassed?
Here are some steps you should take to make sure it is addressed:
1. Tell a teacher or trusted adult.
2. Click on the yellow sheet 3-8 This will make sure that the incident is documented.
3. Contact the counselor: Beth Doerksen (K-5) edoerksen@usd259.net or Mandy Anderson (6-8) aanderson9@usd259.net
4. Follow up with the counselor and feel free to contact the Assistant Principal Heidi Flores (K-5) hflores1@usd259.net or Emily Tanner (6-8) Etanner1@usd259.net
5. If you do not feel confident the matter has been addressed contact the Principal, Tara Craddock tcraddock@usd259.net , so that she can follow up for you.
