Hertzog Headlines

recent happenings in 4th grade - Nov 30 - Dec 24

This week in ELA we continued working on opinion writing and learned about similes and metaphors. Students discovered that everyone has an opinion about something and we can all explain our reasons with details. Students also discovered similes and metaphors are in our reading and in media often!

This week we finished the division unit. Next week, we will reshuffle flexible groups and begin a unit on mixed operations and word problems. Please continue to work on basic multiplication and division facts!

Social Studies

We continued working on our Native American books. We looked at non-fiction published texts to find different features that we might want to include. These books need to be finished over the weekend so we can print them on Monday.
