Principal's News
A new term will always bring with it new challenges and new opportunities. Over the last few weeks our College has been a hive of activity and I thought it timely to share with our community some of this action!
We have installed new Smart Boards into our secondary learning space to provide our staff and students with improved technology access including wireless connection of their devices to the screens, the ability to offer interactive learning opportunities where software and content can seamlessly work together for improved learning outcomes.
Our Year 3/4 Down Ball area has received a facelift and has extended to offer a more enjoyable play area for all primary students. I believe the down ball area at our college is a learning space and this has been highlighted with our Prep's using the new little deck around one of the trees as a great area for small group teaching.
We have also upgraded lighting to the Sunset Hall carpark and other dark spots around the grounds.
Our College is a place where learning matters for our children. Our goal is to strive for continual school improvement, working with our community to make Trinity the best that it can be!

Exciting News......
Our amazing PTFA has approved the purchase and install of a new upper primary/lower secondary playground! This addition to our college facilities has been discussed for many years and is very much anticipated by our students.
Over the last term we have worked with Imagination Playgrounds to recommend equipment that suits our space and age group and then put the rest in the hands of those who will use it, the kids! The design below scored a massive 73% of the student first preference vote and 68% of the second preference vote by students in Years 5-10.
It is planned for the new playground to be installed during the September school holidays, watch this space.....
Thank you to our PTFA and all who support Deutschfest as it is these funds that have made this exciting project possible.
Master Plan
Another exciting task that is currently underway is working towards the development of a new College Master Plan. This plan will guide our development and facility upgrades over the next 10-15 years. The College Council and Executive are currently reviewing submissions to ensure the firm engaged to complete the master planning process is best able to cater for the contemporary learning environment of education in the 21st century.
As this process continues, we will share updates with our community and invite feedback from our families.
Interest in Before School Care and Holiday Care
Trinity Lutheran College is considering establishing a Before School Care and Holiday Care service within the school grounds. In conjunction with Trinity Lutheran College, Camp Australia is surveying families to determine the need for care within the school community.
We encourage families that would use the Before School Care and/or Holiday Care service on a permanent or casual basis to complete the below survey:
Traffic Safety (Parking)
Just a reminder to all families that during afternoon school pickups, vehicles cannot enter the College pickup/drop point before the school buses. We have been informed that there have been numerous complaints to MRCC and Mildura Police regarding illegal parking in Le Pedeleure Ave and Royal Court. Please ensure that you are parking correctly to minimise the likelihood of potential infringements.
Trinity Lutheran College is asking for staff, parents and student feedback on potential DROP and STRIDE zones to be installed in term 3. These zones are a safe place away from the College where parents can safely drop their children. Children will then walk or ride a short distance to school together with students also using the zone. We are seeking your help to develop this trial by completing the survey below (approx. 3mins). Any and all feedback is welcomed - survey closes Friday 9th August.

NAPLAN Trial
Our College has been selected to participate in NAPLAN trial questions for Year 3 and 5 students. These trials occur each year across selected Australian schools, 2019 is our turn. The trials provide non identifiable data to the organisation that sets NAPLAN testing content each year to assist with creating the consistency required across Australia.
