There are THREE types of federal courts.
1 - U.S. Supreme Court - Justices
The U.S. Supreme Court is located in Washington D.C and is the highest court. The U.S. Supreme Court judges are called Justices. There are 9 Justices including 1 Chief Justice and 8 Associate Justices. The Justices are appointed by the President but the Senate has to approve. When a person becomes a Supreme Court Justice, they have life terms, which means they can serve for life. That means that they have to quit or be impeached; there's no term limit.
