Holiday shopping on Amazon?

If you already use Amazon for your shopping, consider designating San Jose Schools as your charity of choice to donate to.

If you shop at smile.amazon.com, the site is identical to the regular Amazon site, however, a % of your purchase will be donated back to the school. Simply go to your Amazon Smile settings and designate River City Education Inc (our Board of Directors) as your charity. That's it!

Now you just keep shopping and it will help the school at the same time!

Got questions? We've got you!

Sometimes you may have questions about one of your child's classes and you want to speak to someone about it.

The chart below lays out the appropriate communication steps for reaching out to school staff about your student. Following the communication protocol will be the best way to resolve your concerns.

Some reminders:

  • Classroom concerns should always be addressed with the teacher first, not administration. The teacher has first hand knowledge of what is happening on a daily basis in the classroom and can give you the most accurate information in a more timely manner
  • Any time that you want to set up a conference, email studentservices@sanjoseprep.org and a member of our team will reach out to you to schedule it

We are here to work with you for the success of your student.

If your student is involved in an emergency....

Hopefully, we never have to contact you due to an emergency, but in the event that there is an emergency, we need to ensure that we have the most up to date contact information, medical information, and we need to know who is authorized to pick up your student on your behalf.

  1. Log in to your Focus parent portal
  2. Go to the left hand column
  3. under your student's name, you will see a small menu
  4. Click on Forms Summary
  5. Click on the link for Emergency Contact Information & Authorization to Release Student from School
  6. Fill out all the fields
  7. Click submit

Parking on campus

Please be reminded that any student drivers must have a parking permit or they risk having their car towed!

Parking permit registration paperwork can be found on our website under the Students tab. Go to Student Forms and click on Parking Decal Registration.

Decal registrations are turned in to Ms. Thurlow.

Re-enrollment time is coming

In the next few weeks, we will be sending home instructions on how to re-enroll your student for the 2022-2023 school year. It is critical that you re-enroll by the January 21 deadline in order to ensure your student's seat at San Jose Prep.

San Jose Schools will also be opening San Jose Early College at Cecil next August. This will be the sister school to San Jose Prep. If your family lives closer to Cecil Field and wish to move your student to the Cecil campus, you will have an opportunity to do so. Detailed instructions will be coming in the next month.
