If you have a child or children 4 years of age and younger living in the MAES or HXES catchment, you are eligible to participate in our weekly playgroups. You and your child will sing, read stories, complete crafts together and go on field trips.

Look for the letters Y and Z throughout the month around your house, in magazines/books, on signs when you go out, on food labels, etc...
Practice Making your letters Y and Z
- cooked spaghetti noodles?
- socks?
- a few pencils or crayons for straight line letters ?
- play-doh?
- head outside and grab some sticks sticks?
- yarn or string?
- sidewalk chalk

After you listen to the songs, discuss the new vocabulary words with your child. You may need to define some of the new words. Review the sound that each letter makes. Assist your child in renaming the words that start with each letter. Perhaps you can even think of other words that begin with the letter. Have fun!
