Update on Leaking Roofs at MHS

Unfortunately, Montgomery has some of the roofs that are in the most need of repair. SRCS started the Montgomery High Roofing project over a year with the approval of the project and architect for completion during the 2019 summer. The project was designed and submitted to the Division of State Architects (DSA) for approval. The project has not been approved by the DSA due to "legacy" projects not certified dating back to the 1990s. SRCS in coordination with the architect of those projects has been working to resolve the open issues in order for the larger roofing project to move forward. These non-certified "legacy" projects are also affecting the new classroom building at Montgomery for the same reasons. Although not DSA approved, we expect approval to be granted and the roofing project to begin during the summer of 2020.

Current Leaks specifically in rooms 11, 18, 21, 55, and in 40's hallway:

Maintenance & Operations has made temporary repairs to the leaking areas. They are waiting to ensure that the leaks stop before replacing the ceiling tiles. They also obtaining a quote for emergency repairs to install a polyurethane roof coating in the most susceptible areas on campus. This is to get the campus through this year's rainy season with the anticipation of the site roofing project occurring during the summer of 2020. Any other items that have been damaged due to water (e.g. carpets, potential mold issues) will be addressed after the leaks have been fixed
