Please be sure to encourage your child to advocate for his- or her- self at school, as this will prepare them for high school.


Wisconsin Forward Exam Starting: There will be a different subject each week that is tested through Wisconsin Forward Exam. This week Monday-Wednesday students will take the math portion of this test during their math class. ILA will be the following week, US History will be the week of May 2nd and Science will be the week of April 25th. It is imperative they receive a good nights sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and lunch, and put forth their best effort during testing. Thank you for your support with this.

Read 180: Students will continue learning about biodiversity. Articles this week focus on "Saving King Crab" and "NOAA a Teacher at Sea."


Story: Students will continue the Holocaust unit. After finishing background knowledge, students will pick a novel focusing on the Holocaust.


Glassman: Students will continue the Holocaust unit. This week will focus on the novel Night by Elie Wiesel.


System 44:


  • Students have started their Native American Unit. Last week we read and discussed some traditional Native American Folktales. This week we will focus on two different Native American tribes. Students will read books, participate in read alouds, study poetry and maps, and watch videos pertaining to the tribes and Native American Culture
  • Fable story board posters will be displayed in the hallway this week and next week! If you are in the building, stop by and check them out! The kids did a GREAT job on them!
  • read 20 min every night at home.
  • WE ARE IN NEED OF SOME DONATIONS FOR OUR GARDEN! We've grown so big that we would greatly appreciate any donations of potting soil and pots :)

In 8th grade math we will taking the Badger Forward Exam Monday through Wednesday. At the end of the week, we will be finishing chapter 7.


In Algebra we are taking the Badger Forward Exam Monday through Wednesday. We will start chapter 9 at the end of the week which involves graphing to find the solutions of quadratic functions.

8th grade math students should prepare to take the test on chapter 7 on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. We will then move to chapter 8 where we will work with the volume of three-dimensional figures starting with cylinders

2. Practice tests and quizzes from each section in the book.

3. Review pages at the end of the chapter in the book
