Winter Farmers' Market

The Port Byron Farmers' Market will be

spending the winter at RVDL!

The Farmers' Market will be in the community room on the

1st and 3rd Saturday of each month

from 9 am-12 pm.

Votive Jar Baskets with Lisa Brathall

Monday, November 4th at 5-8 pm

Lisa Brathall is back again to teach us how to create a cute votive jar basket. Participants will have a choice of fiber colors and accent decorations.

Registration is required.

WWII Lecture Series

Tuesday, November 5th at 1400-1500 (2-3 pm)

The Rock Island Arsenal Museum will be returning to RVDL once again to continue their WWII Lecture Series. This month we will learn about the battles at Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

It's Your Choice Book & Movie Club

Tuesday, November 5th from 3:30-4:30 pm

Do you hate being told what you have to read to be in a book club? We've got the solution for you! At It's Your Choice, you pick what book or movie you choose to discuss each month.

Find new reads and fun new shows through lively conversations with friends!

Make Your Own Beeswax Wraps

Wednesday, November 6th at 6 pm

Come and create a reusable beeswax wrap.

Beeswax wraps are a perfect substitute for plastic wrap. They are able to be wiped down and reused again and again, saving you money along the way.

Registration is required.

DIY Bath Bombs

Thursday, November 7th at 5-7 pm

Make your own fun, fizzy bath bombs at RVDL.

Participants will be able to create up to 3 different bath bomb recipes and take them home that night!

Registration is required.

Free Family Portraits

Saturday, November 9th from 9a-1p

Individuals and families are invited to have their photos taken for free at RVDL.

You must call to register for a 15-minute time slot.

Photos will be sent out via email the following week.

Only one time slot per person/family, please.

DIY Canvas Photos

Tuesday, November 12th at 2 pm

Create your own 8"x10" canvas photo. Participants will need to bring their own photos, preferably on photo quality paper. If you are unable to print your photo at home, the library can help you!

Registration is required.

HFK Presents Alexander Hamilton: The American Rags to Riches Story

Friday, November 15th from 6-7 pm

"Alexander Hamilton was born in the Caribbean and abandoned as a child. How did these humble beginnings plant the seeds of opportunity for this founding father? Ironically, he, in turn, created opportunities for others by helping to create a government he could never run as President."

Program is recommended for adults,

and children in 6th grade and up.

Junk Journals 101

Wednesday, November 20th at 5 pm

What is a Junk Journal?

It is a book that is often made through found and recycled materials to be used as a way to collect and record memories, thoughts, ideas, and inspiration.

You will be creating your own junk journal to begin your junk journaling journey!

Registration is required.

Friends Thanksgiving Lunch

Thursday, November 21st from 12-2 pm

All adults are invited to join the Friends of the Library for their annual Thanksgiving Potluck Lunch. You are encouraged to bring a dish to pass.
