Not One, but Two Great Family Events in January
WoW will host two great family events this month:
- First on Wednesday, January 10 is a "Block Party" program created by Purdue Extension, and brought to us by Kevin Zoromski from the Michigan Cooperative Extension Service. Families are invited to come and play with blocks of all types and sizes learning many important math, science, and social skills. This is a FREE event that includes PIZZA.
- On Saturday, January 27 WoW will again host our Super Hero Training Camp. Children and adults are invited to come dressed as their favorite Super Hero and participate in active fun with snacks, games, and crafts. Ticket Price: $10 per Child or $20 per Family with Three or More Children

Baby, It's Cold Outside! Should We Play Outside?
At World of Wonder we place a high value on providing children with daily experiences of outdoor play and nature. As a licensed child care center and preschool program we are required to take our children outside 30 minutes of every three hours they are in attendance. Fenton schools has a weather policy also: Children go out to recess or play outside unless temperatures fall below ten degrees actual or zero degrees when windchill is factored in. Here is a great article that supports the best practice to daily outdoor play:

My "One Word" for the New Year continues to be: WONDER
The New Year is a good time for reflection. As i reflected on the past year in writing my holiday letter, I shared with friends and family that I have chosen "One Word" as my focus and that word is WONDER. I continue to experience so much joy in focusing my life and career on children interacting and experiencing the world. To me they are an endless source of WONDER and I so enjoy witnessing their WONDER with the world. I invite you to choose your own One Word for the New Year. If you would like to learn more check out: One Word that Will Change your Life by Jon Gordon, Jimmy Page and Dan Britton. https://youtu.be/CShvhZ7D0fg. The idea of this concept is to choose One Word to focus on for the year --One Word to create clarity, power, passion and life-change.
