We have a 1/2 day PD this week. Please see below for details. As we continue though the semester let's not forget to make parental contact concerning attendance, discipline, and grades. It is vitally important that we keep parents abreast of student progress or lack their of.

Monday
Gold Day
- We will operate the Gold schedule due to the half day on Wednesday.
ACCESS for ELL Testing
- Make-ups will be conducted through the week.
Confucius Institute Performance
- 6:00 PM in the auditorium
- Admission is free.

Freshman Goal-Setting Sessions
- Goal-setting and Failure Conferences with select Freshmen
Soccer Season Begins
- Our Soccer Teams have their first game in Florence.
- Those players will be dismissing early.
Tuesday
Severe Weather Drill
- During HR at 9:45
- Please review your severe weather procedures with your students.
Wednesday
Seniors Have Heart Luncheon
- At 10:00 in the Library
- A listing of students participating will be forwarded to you
- Approximately 30 to 40 students
Half-Day of School for Students
- We will meet 2nd, HR, and 4th Blocks.
- Students will dismiss at 11:30.
Half-Day Professional Development for Teachers
- Lunch will be from 11:30-12:30.

Earth and Space Science Field Trip
- Trip to the Space and Rocket Center
- 8:30-3:00 PM
- Students will eat breakfast in the classroom and will be called down to the lobby at 8:20 AM
- Ms. Henderson will forward the list of students attending.
Confucius Institute Presentations
- Presentations in Art Classes
Half Day Professional Development
Equity Training for New Teachers
- Teachers that did not attend the July 19 Equity Training during New Teacher Orientation must attend.
- Training is from 12:30-4:00 at Huntsville High Freshman Academy.
- Teachers should sign-up on STI-PD.
EE Grading
- In the Library with Mrs. Cobbs.
- 12:30-3:30 PM
- Selected teachers have been sent a calendar request.
MYP SchoolNet Benchmark Development
- Courses that will need to develop their benchmark that are on the MYP Pacing. (English 9, English 10, Biology, Chemistry, World History, and U.S. History 10)
- In the Library with Mrs. Bird
- 12:30-3:30 PM
ACT Aspire and ACT Plus Writing Mock Assessment Development
- Meet in Ms. McCants' classroom
- 12:30-3:30 PM
- Selected teachers that will be conducting the study sessions.
Other Departments
- Other departments may be having district-wide training (Special Ed., Career Tech, Counseling, PE/Athletics, Fine Arts)
- Please check with your district directors for direction on those trainings.
Teachers not involved in any of the above training are expected to work in their classrooms and get caught up with grading, calling parents, etc.

Support Jhayla Dawkins
Jhayla Dawkins has an opportunity to attend a Medical Conference in Boston. We had a student last year to participate. It is an awesome opportunity for students to be selected to attend.
