Happy Holidays and News for the New Year
Important School Dates:
1/4 - School Returns: 1st grade - 6th grade (Remote) & Kindergarten (In-Person)
1/18 - Martin Luther King Jr/ Day - No School
1/19 - All Students Return to On-Site Learning (possibly 1/11- stay tuned) We can't wait to see you!
- Devices will need to be returned ( Devices should not go with students on the bus)
1/20 - Early Release Day -CANCELED...this will be a normal school day
A Season for Giving
Thank you to all that contributed to our Homer Food Pantry and Helping Hands Drive. We are grateful for the generous hearts in our community and we will be dropping these items off at the Homer Food Pantry and KPBSD Homeless Liaison this week.
"And the Nomar Bag Goes to...."
Thank you to everyone that participated in our recent Community Council Facebook Auction! A BIG "Thank you!" to Nomar for their generous donation of a gear bag. Congratulations to Theresa Engebretsen for having the highest bid. Not only have you won a pretty sweet gear bag but your contribution will help our Community Council continue to make our students' learning experience even better! Our McNeil Canyon Community is such a huge part of enriching our students' education and we couldn't do it without you all! Stay tuned for future Facebook Auctions.
January Spotlight Students
The following students have been selected as Spotlight Students for the month of January: Piper Huff, Eulyana Reutov, Verinea Basargin, Isaiah Rutter, Eiko Olson, Jack Engebretsen, Araya Andres, McKenna Connelly, and Ila Sylce. Spotlight Student forms will be sent home on January 4th, 2021. Please return them as soon as possible so they can be placed on our Spotlight Student bulliten board. Thank you!
4th - 6th Grade Spelling Bee Coming Soon!! Time to Study!
In place of our normal spelling bee study group, we received a great online tool from Marjorie Dunn at West Homer Elementary to share with our students to help them practice. Click the button below to access this resource. Winter Break would be a great time to start practicing and we all know practice makes perfect!
