Can't Hide Our Hound Pride!

Howdy Hounds!

Thank you to everyone that joined us for spirit night at Freddy's! Our spirit night ended up being the largest spirit night they have ever had! If you participated by attending, please use the link below to document your child's homeroom class. As promised, Freddy's will be sponsoring sundaes for the class with the most participation! Unfortunantly, there was not a procedure set up with the restaurant to keep track of attendance, so we are asking for you to indicate your participation here based on the honor system. :) This form will close at 4:00pm on Tuesday, and we will annouce the winning class.

We are looking forward to our Book Character Dress Up Day on Monday! Be sure to check out the flyer below for more details.

Please remember that early voting contines at Fulshear High School. Please click here to learn more about the LCISD Bond 2022.

We are very much looking forward to our Picnic with Parents on Thursday, November 17th. Please click here to RSVP.

Finally, this information was shared via Skylert on Thursday, but I wanted to ensure everyone had a chance to review the changes to the car rider traffic pattern, as well as the important information about morning arrival and tardies.

The temporary access road that connects Charger Way to Katy-Fulshear Road has been closed. To access our car rider line, please continue to use Charger Way. Take Charger past Leaman Junior High to Fulshear Bend. Turn left on Fulshear Bend, and then turn left on Katy-Fulshear Road. You will then make a right turn into our car rider line.

Also, a quick reminder regarding morning arrival. Our school day starts at 7:30am, which means that students should be in their classrooms when the 7:30 bell rings. Students that have not entered the building by the 7:30am bell will be marked tardy. If you arrive after 7:30, you will not be able to make a right turn into the car line. Please go up to Huggins Drive, turn right and enter the parking lot. At that point, parents/guardians will need to park and escort their child into the building, utilizing the cross walk. Cars should exit the parking lot the same way they entered, to avoid driving near the cross walk. The purpose of this process is to ensure the safety of our students. Staff members enter the building at 7:30 to begin teaching, which means we do not have individuals on duty to escort students that are tardy. Additionally, we cannot have any cars park in the fire lane when walking their children into school. Please remember that this procedure is only used after 7:30am. Parents are not permitted to park and walk their students into school before 7:30am, as it creates a safety concern when we have pedestrians crossing our car line.

We are looking forward to a great week ahead with our Hounds!

Sincerely,

Bethany Cunningham

LCISD Beginning of Year Forms - Action Needed

For the 2022-23 school year, all required Lamar Consolidated ISD beginning-of-year forms must be completed online through the Skyward Family Access Center.

Offering these forms digitally allows you the convenience of only updating information that has changed from last school year, while also helping us maintain accurate information in our student information system. Instructions, important dates and technical assistance regarding the online forms can be found by clicking here. Included on this page is a link to reset your Family Access username/password if you have forgotten it.

Online forms will be available through the Family Access Center starting Aug. 1 and all forms need to be submitted no later than Sept. 16th. Your student’s schedule will not be available online through the Family Access Center until all of the beginning-of-year forms are completed for your student and after the campus has released schedules. Student schedules will be available online on Wednesday, Aug. 17th if all online forms have been completed.

For those who need access to a computer or the Internet, computers will be available on campus Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. starting August 8th.

Huggins Dress Code

Starting with the 22-23 school year, students at Huggins Elementary will not be required to follow a uniform policy. All students must comply with the LCISD Dress Code, as outlined in the Elementary Student Handbook. We encourage all students to wear purple for Charger Thursday, in support of our Fulshear Chargers. We also encourage students to participate in Huggins Spirit Day on Fridays by wearing Huggins shirts and/or red!
