Engineering & More

Intro to Engineering is launching their "Wacky Races" Design Sprint, where they'll host a CO2 powered vehicle event and use 3D modeling and additive manufacturing to create their cars!

Principles of Engineering is working on kinematics, using the laws of physics to create ballistic devices capable of landing a ping pong ball anywhere within a room. Engineering Design and Development is getting ready to defend their project ideas by presenting their proposals to adults and professionals. Architecture students are deep into the technical mechanics of proper drafting techniques and are launching into an immersive study of a great work of architecture that they will create presentation drawings to demonstrate their drafting skills. In Digital Citizenship, students tackled an authentic problem - not enough field trips! So they used digital literacy skills to research and plan 14 field trips for their fellow students to take this year or next year. This project included writing a letter to another teacher asking them to take them on the trip and justifying its academic value!
