December Edition

As we begin the month of December, I would like to take a moment to thank

each of you for a wonderful first semester. It is hard to believe that December 19th marks

the end of second quarter and we are half way through this school year! In the past few months, we have had many adventures and created many lasting memories! Our students have explored, questioned and learned many new topics throughout first semester. They have grown socially, emotionally and academically. Lincoln students and staff continue to conduct themselves with great Character and build respectful and caring relationships with one another. I can't wait to see the growth in each & every one of them as we continue on into second semester.

To help set goals & support these accomplishments at home, you can:

  • ask your child(ren) about each school day,
  • watch class newsletters & Facebook posts to see specific curricular details to discuss with your child(ren),
  • encourage child(ren) to read, write, & study math facts at home,
  • continue to volunteer, and
  • encourage exemplary attendance.

With the beginning of the winter season, I would like to offer a reminder to

families regarding winter weather safety. With the chilly temperatures, it is important to

help remind your child each day to wear their winter coat, along with a cozy hat and

mittens/gloves. If your family is in need of assistance in providing winter weather gear

for your child, please contact the office. Please remember that we go outside to recess each day that the temperature & windchill rises above 20 degrees. Also, with the winter weather we experience in Missouri, please take a moment to review district procedures regarding the cancellation of school. Please check local news channels, radio stations, and the district app for notifications regarding school cancellations. Keeping our students and families safe during the winter weather is always a priority.

Yours in education,

Ms. Ellis, Principal

Mr. Schultz, Assistant Principal

2014 Toys for Tots Campaign

The Lincoln County Marine Corps League is partnering with businesses and schools in our community to bring joy and toys to families in need this holiday season. Lincoln Elementary is proud to announce our participation in this partnership. It is important to know that 100% of the donations and proceeds will directly benefit children in our own community and even our school. We are seeking donations of new toys for boys and girls ages 0-12 years old. Please consider joining us in this outreach opportunity by donating new toys, gift cards or cash donations to the Lincoln Office throughout the month of November. We ask that all gift card or cash donations be delivered directly to the office for security purposes. We thank you in advance for your support in bringing some holiday cheer to those who may need it most! #proud2bleopards

We need people to help on all three days so this can be a success for our kiddos.

We would appreciate your help any day and any time that you can give.

We cannot make this happen without all of your help!

We are in need of the following volunteers:

* 5 people to watch the tables with the merchandise and help re-stock the tables.

* 5 people to help the kiddos shop and stay within their budgets on their envelopes.

* 4 people to help wrap (bag) and tag their purchases.

We also need people to help keep everything running smoothly so that the kids can shop and get back to their classrooms as quickly as possible.

On Monday and Tuesday we will provide lunch for you.

If you are able to help any day, any time please email Vanessa Pullen at

Thank you so much for your help!
