Happy Sunday Elementary Coyotes!
Welcome to Week 7. We have a few events happening this week, please read on for more details.
1. Teacher and Staff Appreciations Week (May 1-May 5)
This week we celebrate teacher and staff appreciation. We are asking for your help showing your child's teacher how much they are appreciated this week by participating in the dress up days below and with the activities.
Monday- Write your teacher a Thank you letter or card.
Tuesday- Pick a flower or bring a flower.
Wednesday- Bring a salty or sweet treat.
Thursday- Bring your teacher their favorite soft drink, coffee, or tea.
Friday- Bring your teacher their favorite "pamper" item.
2. PK-2nd Grade End of the Year State Testing (mClass/Istation Reading, Lectura, Math)
All our PK-2nd grade students will be completing the end of the year testing for reading and math over the next few weeks. We encourage you to talk to your child to do their best and to show what they know.
3. 2023-2024 New Student Registration
Please help us get the word out, Head Start, Pre-Kinder & Kinder New student registrations are now open. Stop by our school office to register or give us a call for more information.
Registration Checklist for All New Students
- Birth Certificate.
- Drivers License/Government Issued ID (Parent/Guardian)
- Immunization Record.
- Proof of Residency. Utility Bill AND Tax Statement/Lease Agreement OR. Residency Approval Form (Provided by Residency Office)
- Social Security Card (student)
Registration for all RETURNING students is also open. Help your child's class win prizes for 100% registration. Check out the flyer below for more information.
Attendance Contest - Be at school everyday from March 20-May 11 & win a fieldtrip!

-Teacher Appreciation Day #3: Bring your teacher a sweet or salty snack & dress in your overalls or dress in blue.
Thoughtful Thursday, May 4

-Elementary Science Expo, May 4 (4:00-6:00, Star Wars themed- May the "Fourth" Be with You!)
-Teacher Appreciation Day #4: Bring your teacher a hot or cold beverage like tea, coffee, juice, or soda & wear a school shirt with jeans.
Friendly Friday, May 5
-Kinder mClass testing & dyslexia EOY testing
-Nurse Appreciation Day (Saturday, May 6)
-School Lunch Hero Appreciation Day
-Teacher Appreciation Day #5: Bring your teacher an item that she can get pampered with like a candle, lotion, or nice soaps & wear 'Cinco de Mayo' dress.
Great things happening at our school!
County Commissioner, TX Dot, & TISD Groundbreaking Ceremony
Thanks to the partnership created between Commissioner Holguin, TX Dot, & Superintendent Vega-Barrio, Tornillo held is groundbreaking ceremony for the new side walks & additional walking trails that will be installed. These are in addition to the walking trail & bus terminal installed this past year.
Kinder Science Rocks!
