Drive Dates: 11/2/15-11/18/15
How will the drive be executed?
Students and Staff will bring canned-food and non-perishables to show their compassion and determination to help others.
LTK and Counselor will keep track of each class’ contribution. The class that brings the most canned food items within the time frame will be rewarded with a pizza party.
Items will be picked up by LTK members and placed outside the counselor’s office across from the garden
At the completion of the drive, counselor will call to schedule donation to Calvary Baptist Church

GEN TX Week/College and Career Week (Career Cruising)
Career Cruising is an internet-based career exploration and planning tool your child uses to explore career and college options, and develop a career plan.
This program is implemented through the GPISD Counseling Department, whose mission it is to guide students from cradle to career. Career Cruising can be accessed from school or home.
Features of the program include:
- Interest and Skills Assessment a world-renowned career assessment tool to help people identify suitable career options based on their interests and skills
- Career Profiles thorough and up-to-date information about hundreds of different occupations, including direct links between careers and college programs
- Dual Language – The program can shift from English to Spanish text with a click of a button
- Personal Graduation Plans – Assists with House Bill 5 Endorsement tracking and allows high school students to register for courses online
- Multimedia Interviews interviews with real people in each occupation, which add depth and realism to career profiles
- College and Financial Aid Information comprehensive college and financial aid information, with a number of useful search tools to help students find the right college and the right scholarships
- Electronic Career Portfolio available online, so students can develop their education and career plans from wherever they access Career Cruising
- Resume Builder integrated with the portfolio to help students format and print professional-looking resumes quickly and easily
Grades Pre-K – 5
The elementary component of Career Cruising is called CCSpark. In GPISD all Pre-K through 5th grade students can log into their account at the link below from school or home to learn about careers through a fun game format.
