Halloween Day October 29
Our school’s 8th-grade class and student council planned a Halloween carnival for Friday, October 29th. We are looking for parent volunteers to help with the games or sell food while the event is going on. You will be awarded 4 service hours for coming to help set up the games, sell snacks and clean up from 8:30-12:30. Service hours will not be granted if you only come to watch the parade or take care of your own child.
Please click on the following link to sign up to volunteer on October 29th:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040844ADAF2EA3F85-halloween
Every year, the PTO asks our school families to contribute $4.00 per student, so we can purchase candy for the Halloween Carnival Games. The 8th makes the games as a school project and the school community helps with the candy.
Please send the $4.00 contribution by Tuesday, October 26. Turn in the money to your child’s classroom teacher. If you rather turn in a 5lb bag of candy for service hours instead of the $4.00 you may do so. No Gum, please.

COVID-19 testing
Dear LA County Community Sector Partners,
Please see information below about no-cost COVID-19 testing at local health centers and select pharmacies.
The COVID-19 testing sites on the LA County COVID-19 Testing website offer no-cost (free) testing.
The City of Los Angeles also offers free COVID-19 testing.
U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) has also partnered with pharmacies and retail companies to accelerate testing for more Americans in communities across the country (HHS website)
These companies are coordinating with state and local governments to:
- Provide Americans with faster, less invasive and more convenient testing
- Protect healthcare personnel by eliminating direct-contact with symptomatic individuals
- Expand testing to communities across the United States, especially those that are under-tested and socially vulnerable
Please visit these companies' websites to learn more about their efforts to provide timely and accessible COVID-19 testing or to schedule an appointment.
California
No-cost testing is available at local health centers and select pharmacies:
- Find a health center near you. Please call ahead to make an appointment.
- CVS Health
- Local independent pharmacies
- Rite Aid
