Sterilization techniques on medical tools being improved gave patients a better survival rate over the years. Cholera was discovered in sewage water and sterilization techniques involving boiling drinking water and washing hands frequently decreased the spreading of disease. Codeine, morphine and chloroform became frequently used in the medical districts during this time period.

Industrial Revolution (early 1800's) - This began in the early 1800's. Manufacturing districts began to demand more jobs in the agricultural industry. There was advancement in factories that allowed many resources, such as cotton and coal, to be produced faster. There were also many transportation advancements in railways, vehicles, and ships which allowed many resources and goods to be transported faster and more efficiently across the globe.
