Soul Café Helpful Hints
It is up to each individual if you want to set up/make coffee before service or during service (I personally feel better if I prep before service)!
**YOU HAVE TO RUN A "TEST POT" OF JUST WATER BEFORE MAKING COFFEE!!!**
Coffee (see instruction sheet in drawer under the coffee maker) typically 2 pots regular and 1 decaf.
If service looks like a “larger” crowd you can make 1 regular pot during soul café.
Treats- usually can be found on top of the soul café cart or on kitchen counter.
At times they may be located in the fridge or freezer,
but we try to let you know if that is the case.
Juice, Milk, & Coffee can be brought to the gathering area on a cart from the kitchen.
You can serve coffee from carafes located underneath island in the kitchen.
Napkins, stirrers, cups, etc should be in the soul café cart. Please make sure the sugar, sweet n low, stirrers, powdered creamer, and napkins are on top of soul café cart to be easily accessible. If something is low you can look in the back kitchen pantry. If you notice something is empty or running low please let Mary or Camilla know.

Our Conference Our Kids
Our Conference Our Kids is endowing the Spiritual Life Ministries at the Baby Fold, Chaddock, Cunningham Children's Home, Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House, and Spero Family Services to ensure the continued inclusion of Christ-Centered Spiritual care in their healing work.
PUMC has been a generous giver to this asking and we were issued a challenge on December 8 to give $2,500.00 to this endowment fund. We have not given any money to this asking for the past year and I would like to see PUMC meet this challenge if not exceed it. You may give to the church and note this is for Our Conference Our Kids and it will be forwarded to the conference.
This fund helps the spiritual lives of at-risk children and families. As we move to the next 50 years, let us not forget who will benefit for the next 50 years. 100 percent of what you give will go toward Our Conference Our Kids. Please give and pray for these children and the staff that works with them.
Have A Great Holiday. God Bless, Bonnie Mankle, Treasurer

HUMAN RELATIONS SUNDAY: Sunday, January 19th
Turn on the news or drive around the outskirts of your town and you will find what Jesus called “the least of these.” Those living in the margins of society, struggling to survive. Over and over Jesus served people like this, embracing them. And that’s what we want to model as the people of The United Methodist Church. To continue the ministry of Jesus we established Human Relations Day as a Special Sunday that calls all of our churches to participate in helping all God’s children to realize their potential.
Your support this ministry helps us to continue nurturing at-risk youth, strengthening communities’ self-improvement efforts and advocating for the oppressed.
FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: Friday, January 24th
Mark your calendars! All are invited to join us for a Family Movie Night at 6:00 p.m on January 24th. We welcome kiddos from kindergarten-12th grade and their families! Join us for dinner, drinks, popcorn and a movie.
