Monday Morning Memo - Week 22
2/2/20 - Happy Superbowl Sunday!
Dear Poupard Leaders,
Staff Meeting Update
I am sad to announce that our Culturally Responsive Professional Development that was planned or this Tuesday has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts. It's unfortunate but the trainer from Wayne RESA has committed to assisting with transitional activities for our students and families for next year.
This Tuesday, I am allocating grade-level teams time (3:55-4:55) to work on continuing to dig into their new Amplify resources, gain a better understanding of unit pacing guides, investigation questions, and key concepts. Please note, this will not impact the half-day Amplify planning sessions Keith recently offered grade-level teams through Title 2 funding.
**Additionally, this change will not impact our cancelation of the Feb 11th Department Meeting as I previously offered in return for staying longer on the 4th. I know many of you have made plans and adjusted your schedules to accommodate my earlier request and I truly appreciate our teaching staff for being willing to stay and for their commitment to learning.
Kindness Email from Culture Team
February is Kindness Month! Since we aren't in school during Kindness Week (Feb 16-23) we would love for you to take the entire month to celebrate kindness. Our LiM Culture Team wanted to share some resources with you that you could incorporate into your classroom throughout the month. The resources include videos, quotes, books, contests and random acts of kindness. Feel free to use as much, or as little, as you'd like just don't forget to spread kindness like confetti!
If you have a different way to celebrate kindness in our school, please share it with the staff!
Virtual Freckle Training (K-2)
Teachers have the opportunity to attend a virtual Freckle training on February 10, 25, and/or March 12. To be eligible for Kalpa hours you must register through Kalpa and sign up for the online training. When finished with the training you will receive a short Kalpa survey about your learning. You do not need to attend all training dates to get Kalpa credit. Each session is a different focus on learning. You can attend all three or just one. This is not required but offered to those interested.

Class Newsletters
Please share your weekly newsletters with me by "Ccing" me when they are emailed out to families. This allows for me to stay connected with all of the exciting things happening inside of your classrooms.
GES3
Our GES3 meeting dates and deadlines have been established by the team. You can access that information below. It will also be made available on our Poupard Schoology page.
GES3 Dates and Information Page
Walkie Talkie
All Classroom Teachers should have received a Walkie Talkie. Please take it with you when you take your students outside for an extra recess. The office staff will use it to locate individual students, typically for early dismissal.Emergency Information
Please be sure to review all of the emergency information for fire drills and tornado drills inside of your classrooms. We will be doing a sweep to make sure your emergency bags are stocked with everything that necessary and include updated rosters as they become available.
Behavior Referrals
Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
