Weekly Update
This week was a cold one. We spent several of our days inside for recess due to the wind chill being too cold. Please remember that we do go outside if it is above 10 degrees.
Many of our students have started our next round of IReady and MAP testing. We take these diagnostic assessments three times a year. We can't wait to see the progress our students are making. Please encourage your students to do their best on our assessments.
COVID 19 Information Updates
Updated COVID-19 Guidance - Please read
Earlier this week, the McHenry County Health Department shared the updated guidance from the CDC for reduced isolation and quarantine with the intent to have students remain in school (or return to school sooner). This means that the isolation and quarantine period for students and staff members sick with COVID-19 or considered a close contact has been reduced to five days. Harrison will be following these new guidelines, and the infographic available below should help us all understand the guidelines and expectations.
For those students who were infected with COVID-19 or named a close contact on January 12th or earlier may return to school on Tuesday, January 18th. Please know that the main purpose for the shortened quarantine is to have students return to school sooner. If students return after five days, they will be required to mask at all times, will be seated at a different table for lunch for 5 days in which they are 6 ft away from any student and must wear a mask while outdoors.
Students who were close contact and will be returning to school on Tuesday, January 18th will be able to resume extra curricular activities like choir, band and basketball. Students who were COVID-19 positive will be able to return to extra curricular activities after 10 days of the onset of symptoms or the positive test.
We appreciate all of your patience and support as we continue to navigate through this pandemic. We're hopeful that we're nearing the end of it and that our students will be able to resume all regular school activities before the end of the year.

Illinois renters may be eligible for up to $25,000 and 18 months of emergency rental payments under the program. This is a grant that does NOT have to be repaid.
