How he met Persephone
Hades abducted Persephone and took her to the Underworld. Her mother Demeter got very angry and made everything die on earth until her daughter returned. If you eat food from the Underworld, you can not leave. Persephone didn't know ate six pomegranate seeds. Therefore she had to spend six months with Hades in the Underworld and six months on Earth with her mother. When she is with Hades it is Fall and Winter and everything is dormant, and when she is on Earth it is Spring and Summer, then everything grows.
