NEW HEADPHONES
The Tech Committee decided that it would be good to refresh our headphone resources. We ordered new headphones for every classroom in first through fifth grade (kindergarten already has new sets). Now that the headphones have been delivered, we're ready to put them in classrooms. Please bring your old class set to Lisa. You'll be given one pair of new headphones per student. At the end of the year, you will retain the class set of headphones to use the next year. No need to worry about using them with new students, as there will be a long enough period without human exposure to eliminate contamination concerns.
Just a few details:
- Please number these to match the student numbers used in your classroom. You can use permanent marker, stickers, or whatever works best for you.
- If you get a new student, you'll be given a new set of headphones along with other related devices.
- If you have trouble with a headset, contact Lisa for a repair or replacement.
Reach out to Lisa or Cathy with any questions.
Apple TV might not work for you without this tip: There is another Apple TV update. The iPad or Macbook trying to connect to the updated Apple TV might get a message about "Unable to connect". You will need to find the Apple TV remote (the little remote) and press the top "button" (trackpad). This will "wake up" the Apple TV. Press it again to click Continue. I suggest you try to connect to you Apple TV before you need it. Please let Lisa know (via Hangout) if you need help.
EDUCATIONAL VIDEO RESOURCES
Thanks to Sarah for sharing the link to the Educational Technology and Mobile Learning website this morning. In addition to the educational videos that are highlighted, you'll also find links to other valuable websites and tools. Be sure to check out the navigation bar at the top of the page!
PARENT CONFERENCE REMINDER
As you are wrapping up your conferences, if you see/hear parents who are directing their children to the playground while you meet, please remind them that students cannot be unsupervised while on the equipment. This week, we had a student who broke a collarbone due to a fall that happened while playing during a conference. We've done PA announcements and sent Remind texts, but we'd also appreciate your help in this area. Additional reminders will be shared in the Vista Views newsletter prior to our Spring conferences.

DISTRICT OFFICE NEWS: BRIGHT BYTES SURVEY
BrightBytes is back! We have partnered with this educational technology company again to learn about our use of technology to support learning.
The BrightBytes survey is open to all teachers, as well as 3rd-5th grade students. It should take less than 15 minutes to complete on any device with internet access. Please complete the survey by Friday, December 7th.
The teacher survey can be accessed here: www.BByt.es/DR9MT
Your students can access the survey by clicking on the icon above on their Symbaloo page.
Or, they can also access the survey using this link: www.BByt.es/DR9ML
Participation in this survey will help inform how we utilize technology in the classroom.
Thank you for taking part in this important initiative!
