Hello! We hope you are enjoying the three-day weekend! There is no school for students tomorrow. Our staff will be meeting to review student benchmark assessments and plan instruction based on our students' needs. We look forward to discussing this information with you at our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences on October 24 & 25. Wishing you a great Dolphin week at Dryden!

Sweetest Day Family Dance, October 18

Time to get your tickets today!!! The social event of the year at Dryden is on Friday, October 18 from 6:30-8:30pm in the Dryden Commons. We'll have a DJ, crafts, a professional photographer taking family photos, and snacks for purchase. Pre-sale tickets are $10 per family (sold through Wed, Oct 16) and $15 at the door. We can only accept cash or checks at the door.

Props Needed for 1st & 2nd Grade Musicals

If anyone has any leftover or unused Halloween decorations or costumes please consider donating or lending them to the school for our upcoming musicals.


We are asking for the following items


  • decorations of spiders, worms, snakes, bugs or bats.
  • rope to make a giant spider web.
  • old costumes or accessories of bats, spiders and worms
  • crazy, unique or big hats



Please drop off your items to the school office by Friday, October 18 and label "musicals". Please put your name on the items if you would like them returned to you.


We appreciate your time and support to make our musicals a success! Thank you!!

Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)

Student in grades four and five who attended Dryden last spring will bring home their individual student IAR reports via backpack mail on Friday, October 18. Please contact the school office if you would prefer to pick up your child's report in person. The Illinois Assessment of Readiness is a state assessment that was administered to students in grades 3 - 5 during the spring of 2019. Additional information about this assessment can be found on the school district website by clicking here.

Call for entries - National PTA’s Reflections program


The theme for the 2019-2020 program year is Look Within. Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
