This year in Language Arts, we will explore deep, critical thinking questions that will address issues like prejudice and stereotypes, irrational thinking, decision making, and challenging the status quo, while exploring anchor texts like: The Outsiders, The Monsters are Due on Maple Street, Love Hate and Other Filters, selections from Huckleberry Finn, Long Way Down, and The Giver. These texts will help us to develop and increase our skills in the five Language Arts components of reading, writing, language, speaking, and listening.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the course of the school year; e-mail is the easiest form of communication for me, but I am happy to speak to you on the phone as well. I know this will be a great year!
