We are thankful for all of our volunteers! Thank you for attending the Volunteer Breakfast last week! Congratulations to Heather Gagne, who was selected as our Slate Hill WEA volunteer for this year. (Pictured with Toni Bonnaci, EL teacher and WEA rep)

On Friday, 6 staff members volunteered to take pies in the face because we hit our Goal of $2500 for our Slate Hill PTA Un-Fundraiser. Our total raised was $2837.00 and we are so thankful for our supportive Slate Hill community! Here is a link to the video of our pie in the face assembly on Friday.
Our Limited Edition 4th and 5th grade choir participated in the Music in the Parks competition at Kings Island on Saturday, May 13th. Our Slate Hill stars represented themselves, their school and their families so well! They sang like a professional children's choir --- and the WEATHER was PERFECT!!
We won FOUR awards... Here is a link to their competition performance.

1. First Place Elementary Treble Choir: SUPERIOR
2. Best Over All Elementary Choir
3. Best Student Accompanists: Percussion Ensemble
4. The "Esprit de Corps" trophy for most respectful performance group out of all the elementary, middle and high school choirs.
Ms. DePaul couldn't stop smiling and Mrs. Gulley couldn't stop crying!! We are SOOOO Proud of our Limited Edition Choir! BRAVO!

Lunch: 11:00 - 12:00 Outside Picnic. If able, please bring a packed lunch in a disposable bag. Lunch can also be purchased the day of from our cafeteria.
What will your Slate Hill Star need?
- Gym Shoes (Tennis shoes)
- Water Bottle with student name
- Towel
- Packed Lunch (if possible)
- Dry Clothes to change into at the end of the day
The class with the best decorated themed hallway wins extra time/stations at Star Fun day. The best dressed student wins a trophy and extra time on the field.

FIRST TIME BUS RIDERS PROGRAM
Our Transportation team will once again host the First Time Riders program on August 5, 2023. Please mark your calendar and make note of the time your school is scheduled to attend. This is always a great event and families appreciate getting the opportunity to meet you and ride a bus.
9 AM – 10 AM: Wilson Hill, Bluffsview, Granby, Sutter Park
10 AM – 11 AM: Slate Hill, Worthington Estates, Brookside, Sutter Park
11 AM – 12 PM: Worthington Park, Liberty, Colonial Hills
12 PM – 1 PM: Worthington Hills, Evening Street
Counselor's Corner
Standing up for yourself and others is an important yet sometimes difficult communication skill to learn. This role-playing game (attached below) is great to help your child learn how to be assertive in different situations without being hurtful!
