Trench Warfare
By Jordyn C.
Trench warfare is a warfare using occupied fighting lines. The Western Front was the most famous for the use of trench warfare. The first trenches were dug on the Western front. At the beginning of the war, the first dug trenches were no bigger than a small ditch or a fox hole. When the soldiers were digging the trenches, they dug straight down which left them open to enemy fire.
At the start of the war, the soldiers only had rifles and bayonets. Some of the weapons are knifes, hand-made clubs, small catapults and push daggers. The soldiers used lots of different types of weapons. The war also saw the use of poison gas, underground mining, air planes, air ships, submarines and tanks.
