October 26, 2018
Many thanks to our PTO, Staff/Teachers, parent volunteers and River Bluff High School students for your outstanding work and time in making this a very special Wild West Mustang Fest! Thank you all for joining us this past Friday evening! Truly a WONDERFUL time was had by all!!! A special shout out to Stacy Eubanks, mom and PTO chair of the event! This was her very first Mustang Fest and she organized all of us in making it a success!!! YEEHAW!!! Thank you for a rootin', tootin' time!!!
As the daylight time shortens, I need to remind everyone to watch carefully in our parking lots during arrival. One small accident would be a disaster. Drive slowly, stay off of cell phones, and keep those eyes looking out for children! I do appreciate this help in the safety of our children and adults!
Next week is Halloween! Please know that not all of our Midway Mustangs celebrate this event. Keep all of that yummy candy at home. If you do send in some type of treat, please coordinate with your child's teacher and maintain a "fall" focus. Also, please be aware of food allergies when do you send in food items. Together--we will grow respect for each other and our differences!
We will celebrate Bully Prevention Week next week! Our calendar is filled with opportunities to grow an understanding of what is bullying as well as an awareness of prevention. Thank you to our wonderful School Counselors, Rick Masters, Susan Goff, and Chan Gray, for planning this awesome week!!!
Have a great weekend! Stay warm and dry...such perfect weather today for reading a good book!
Yours truly,
Jan Fickling

Wild Wild West Mustang Fest Fun!
PLEASE JOIN MIDWAY ON NOVEMBER 9, 2018 FOR A VETERANS DAY PARADE AND CEREMONY!
Students are encouraged to invite a veteran (family member, close family friend, and/or neighbor) as their special guest to participate in this event honoring our local veterans and service individuals. Midway will also create a “Wall of Honor” to display in our school so that our students will have a better understanding of those who serve or have previously served our country (branch of service, rank, main job duties, tours, honors, etc.). We would ask students who have invited a guest to complete the “Wall of Honor” information sheet that is attached. Extra forms will be available in the front office or may be printed from Midway’s newsletter email. Students should return the completed page to the office by Friday, November 2, so that the wall display can be created before our parade and ceremony.
Calling all Boy and Girl Scouts!
Please join us for our Veterans Day Parade; as we honor the brave men and women who proudly served/serve our country. First responders and service individuals are encouraged to participate as well. The parade will be the morning of Friday, November 9th. Scouts should wear their uniform (Dress A) to school. After announcements, all students will be dismissed to participate in the parade with their guest. Ms. Hendrix will meet students near the PE room to assemble.
Please note that all students are encouraged to invite a veteran, first responder, or service individual (family member, close family friend, and/or neighbor) as their special guest to participate in our parade and ceremony.
