POLICY AND COMPLIANCE NOTICES
This week we are highlighting two parts of the Code of Conduct.
The first is where we see a breach of the Code. Student safety is the responsibility of EVERYONE in our community. Where you see a breach of our Code, it is important you have a confidential conversation with the Principal.
We have also included:
Conduct statement 3 - You act in accordance with the values of the Gospel as defined in the Code of Ethical Conduct.
Conduct statement 4 - You conduct yourself in accordance with laws, agreements, policies and standards relevant to your relationship with the school community.
Please have a read and be familiar with these conduct statements.
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hampers
Christmas for many of us is a time of happiness and celebration as we gather with our family and friends sharing meals, laughing and chatting as we open presents, however, for people experiencing poverty and disadvantage Christmas can be a challenging time. The Vinnies Christmas Appeal encourages the community to rethink their priorities at Christmas time by helping to give joy and hope to those who need it most.
We are seeking your support through the donation of non-perishable food items. This will enable us to provide families and individuals who turn to St Vincent de Paul over this period with Christmas hampers so they too can share in the joy of Christmas.
Suggested items:
- Christmas cakes/puddings/cookies/mince pies
- Chocolates/candies/nuts/ snacks/ nibbles
- Christmas stockings for children
- Soft drinks/juices
- Long life milk/cream
- Long life custards (pouring, not powder)
- Tinned ham/fish/fruit/vegetables
- Jams/honey/pickles
- Bon Bons/crackers
- Baby products
No fresh fruits/vegetables. No meats
All items will be collected in each classroom and donated to St Vincent de Paul on Thursday
10th December.

Join the P&F or Become a Parent Rep!
Are you thinking maybe you might like to join the P&F?
It’s a great way to learn more about the school, meet other parents, have some fun and give back to our community.
Please find any member of the P&F to have a chat to about it or send us an email with any questions.
We would also love to have parent reps in place by the time we start school in 2021.
So if you are considering taking on this role which involves communicating with class parents, organising social functions and coordinating a part of one of the school’s community events, please get in contact with Michele in the office.
If you have any questions about what joining the P&F or being a Parent Rep involves email our P&F President, Anita Carr at holyrosaryhelpers@gmail.com

CPSSA ATHLETICS CARNIVAL & TRIATHLON
What a great week we have had in sport at Holy Rosary. The Holy Rosary Athletics Squad had a fabulous day and we were all so proud of your efforts and behaviour. Holy Rosary finished 5th overall and 2nd in the boys which was a truly wonderful result given we were in A Division.
I would just like to say thanks to our parents that were able to come down and watch the team and to Danni and Mirjana for helping us on the day. Most importantly I would like to thank all of our wonderful students for all of their hard work this term.
Our Year 5 and 6 students have also been busy training for the Primary School Triathlon Championship which will be held this Friday at Champion Lakes. Thanks to all of the squad for training so hard.
Special mention to Julie Catherall who helped me train the squads as always your help is very much appreciated by everyone in the Holy Rosary Community especially me.
We still have our Holy Rosary Swimming Carnival on December 4 for students in Year 3 to 6, so there is still lots of fun ahead in sport.
While at the athletics carnival last week Harry Mc Lean came up and asked me how much is a shot put Mr Flexman? As I know he likes shot put, I thought he was thinking of buying himself a shot put to practice with which I thought was a great idea.
Harry and James Xanthis however, had other ideas, they held a lemonade stand on the weekend with some help with lemons from Noah to raise money for extra shot puts for the school.
They raised $86 dollars and presented me with a jar full of money this week and I was blown away with such a fabulous effort. This is yet another example of how great the children at Holy Rosary are. Thanks very much boys J

LIBRARY NEWS
It’s been fun dressing up in the library for MCD this week. Even Mr Kangaroo got into the spirit! All the horse, pony and unicorn books have had a great run and we are now preparing for Remembrance Day which is next Wednesday. Thank you for keeping on track of your child’s overdues. I love the children being able to borrow right up until end of term but this will depend on the number of overdue books I am chasing up. All books will need to returned by week 8, with week 7 being our last borrowing week. I have a pair of glasses here left from book week and a minions bag if anyone is looking for them. Have a great week.
