LHS Students Advance to FCCLA State Competition
Holt, Liberty, and Timberland students in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) competed at a regional event on January 29th at Montgomery County High School and came away with Top Gold awards. Liberty’s Emma Benesek and Katelyn Yoder (Focus on the Children) and Abbie Visconti and Daelyn Nilges (Chapter Service Project Display) received Top Gold for their projects. By receiving Top Gold (the highest score in their category) these students earned a chance to compete at the Missouri State FCCLA Leadership Conference held March 11-13 at Tan Tara Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri. Liberty Senior Named U.S. Presidential Scholar Candidate
Liberty senior Alexis Guffey has been selected as a candidate for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program in Career and Technical Education. The program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. In 2015, the program was extended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields. Scholars are chosen on the basis of their accomplishments in many areas; academic and artistic success, leadership, and involvement in school and the community, and represent excellence in education and the promise of greatness in America’s youth.
