2021-2022 Plans

TeSA Families,

I can't believe it's already time for us to plan for the 2021-2022 school year. Many of these plans begin with you. The first thing you can do is to let us know about your August plans. Once admitted to TeSA, there is no need to audition again; however, please fill out the Intent to Return form so we know to reserve a spot for your child.

The next thing to do is to spread the word about open enrollment. You are our best advertisement! Thank you for posting on social media and sharing the information with anyone who may be interested. The open enrollment period runs through February 15th, so now is the time to turn in applications and book online auditions. All of the information can be found on our website.

Artistically & Academically Yours,

Betsy Compton, M.A., M.A.T., M.Ed.

Action Item for all TeSA Families

ACTION NEEDED: It's time to start planning for the 2021-2022 school year, and that starts with you! Please use the Intent to Return Form to let us know your plans for August. Your response will help us prepare our classrooms and plan our staffing. Thank you for returning this form by February 1st!

Staffing Changes

Please join me in giving our most heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Carol Dunham on her retirement. This will be her last week with the students. Ms. Dunham has been an amazing teacher at TeSA and we are thankful for her service. After over 20 years teaching, her retirement is well deserved, and we wish her the very best in this new chapter.

We are excited to welcome Ms. Michelle Wilson to the TeSA family! She will be stepping into the 5th grade team and working collaboratively with Ms. Dunham this week as she transitions into taking over full-time next Monday. Ms. Wilson comes to us with over 10 years experience teaching. She is passionate about the Fine Arts and can't wait to get to know our students!

Free Dress for Paper = Tomorrow

Wednesday, January 20th is a Free Dress for Paper Day. Send your child to school with a package of copy paper to participate. All clothing choices should follow the dress code:

Free dress consists of clothing of the student's choice, as long as it is appropriate for school. Appropriate dress consists of no short shorts, spaghetti straps, short skirts, inappropriate t-shirts, etc. Closed toe, closed heel shoes should still be worn with free dress.

Car Signs

As a reminder, your child's car sign should be visible during dismissal. A child's size pants hanger is the best option for hanging the sign while in line and easily pulling it down when you're ready to drive away. If you do not have a hanger, please hold the sign up in the windshield so our teachers can see it clearly. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to read laying on the dash. We want to keep our students safe and deliver them to the correct car, so thank you for your help!

Parent Volunteers

Would you like to help your child by helping the teachers? You can sign up to help make copies, prepare activities, and organize supplies. Due to COVID-19, we are limiting the number of volunteers in the building at once. Please use the January Workroom Sign-Up to claim your spot. If it's your first time volunteering this year, fill out the Volunteer Application and bring it to the front office, where we can notarize it for you.

COVID Procedure Reminders

Our number one priority is keeping our children safe! We are extremely blessed to have such low infection rates at TeSA. Thank you for your continued support by following our 6 Core Practices. If you think someone in your family has been exposed or is waiting on testing results, help your child join At-Home Learning instead of coming to campus. Email Nurse Edna at edna.robinson@mytesa.org and check your grade-level team newsletter for Zoom links and times.

TeSA Applause

Each week, it is my pleasure to give a shout out to someone really shinning at TeSA. This week we recognize the dynamic duo, Belinda Johnson and Tammy Smith.

As the smiling faces of TeSA's front office, Belinda and Tammy always go above and beyond for students, parents, and staff. Everyone knows if needed, they are just an email or phone call away. If they don't know the answer to my question, they will research it and get back to me in a timely manner. Belinda and Tammy make my job much easier. Thank you, both!

Would you like to recognize someone going above and beyond? Use the TeSA Applause Form to give a shout out in next week's Monday Message.
