Alder Weekly Update
Week of April 10, 2022
Message from the Principal
Hello Parents, Staff, and Students,
Happy Spring Break!
We closed out the 3rd marking period this week and look to the last quarter of this semi-post Covid year! With that being said, we are ready to get back to some traditional end of year activities for our school!
Before we get to the fun though, we need to finish our academic school year strong. We will begin administering the NJSLA the week we return from spring break on Tuesday, April 26th. 7th and 8th grade will test English Language Arts (ELA), and 6th grade will assess mathematics. Students are encouraged to bring their own wired headphones for the ELA portion of the assessment. Additionally, students need to bring their fully charged Chromebooks for each day of testing. See below for the testing schedule for each grade level. Please make every effort to have your student in school for those dates and on time! Any questions, please reach out to your student's school counselor.
Elective choices for next year will begin the week of May 2nd. Look for more information to come on the district website and begin to talk to your 6th and 7th grader about their World Language and related arts classes for next year.
For now, let's enjoy our time off! Relax and refresh and gear up for the excitement of the ending of a school year!

Dice and Dine!
Now in its 12th year, the Dice & Dine will be held from 6:30 – 9:30 pm, Thursday, May 19, at Linwood Country Club, and will feature live casino games provided by Full House Casino Entertainment, food stations, and an auction.
The open-to-the-public, indoor/outdoor event promises a fun evening from start to finish by providing attendees with $50 in casino chips when they arrive. Guests have the opportunity to test their luck at eight Blackjack tables, two Craps tables, two Roulette Wheels, and a Big 6 Money Wheel. Additional chips are available for purchase throughout the night. At the end of the evening, ‘gamblers’ can exchange their chips for auction tickets and the chance to win exciting prizes donated by generous local businesses.
The fundraiser will also honor this year’s local Aces and Lou DeScioli Community Spirit Award recipients Ed Bertino, Ron Koons, Tommy Rizzotte, Jeremiah Simmons, and Heidi Vazquez – all Egg Harbor Township Police Officers and EHTHS Alumni who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide “Not Even Once” (NEO) instructional programming for Egg Harbor Township 12-grade students as part of their Health and Physical Education curriculum.
Tickets are $100 each. Seven sponsorship packages ranging from a $250 Friend of the Foundation Sponsorship to the $10,000 'naming rights' Jackpot Presenting Sponsorship are also available. Questions? Please call (609) 646-8441 ext. 1017, or via email to gregorye@eht.k12.nj.us.
