Mrs. Casey Wagner was appointed the West Irondequoit Central School District’s Director of Technology at Thursday night’s Board of Education meeting. Her start date is scheduled for November 7th. She will replace the Interim Director, Mr. Dave Dennison.
“Throughout the interview process Mrs. Wagner impressed us with not only her depth of knowledge and experience but the comfort with which she connected with people,” Superintendent of Schools Aaron Johnson said. “She understands the complexity of maintaining a comprehensive IT structure and how that also can best impact teaching and learning at the classroom level.”
Mrs. Wagner has been the Coordinator of Technology Integration for Wayne-Finger Lakes/Genesee Valley BOCES for nearly two years. Prior to that, she was a Social Studies teacher and Innovation Specialist at Palmyra-Macedon High School for 11 years. That followed a year teaching in Largo, Fla.
Ms. Wagner owns a Bachelor of Science degree in History, Adolescent Certification, Social Studies from SUNY Geneseo and a Master of Science in Reading and Literacy (Birth-12th grade) from Geneseo. She also earned her Advanced Certificate in School Building Leadership/School District Leadership from the University of Rochester.
Mrs. Wagner and her husband, Paul, live in Penfield with their daughter, Ellie.
