3rd Grade Weekly Update

Weekly Objectives

Reading- I can analyze texts and use evidence to support my thinking.

Writing- I can use my knowledge of grammar to revise and edit.

Math-I can determine the measurement of different objects (review and test). I can analyze and create graphs.

Science-I can describe and compare life cycles of plants and animals. I can determine how living and non-living things help each other in ecosystems.

Social Studies- I can gather research for my biography project.


Reading- Read each day for at least 20 minutes.

Homework: Scholastic News

We started a new program called Lexia Core 5. Students can log in through Clever and practice at home. The activities are specially curated for each student in order to address his or her personal needs, and students need to spend at least 40 minutes a week on the program between school and home.

Writing- Spelling Test: Friday April 30th


Measurement Assessment is Wednesday, April 28th.

To study at home: go to www.ixl.com and choose any of the questions in the 3rd grade T category and the 3rd grade DD category. The test will mainly be focused on perimeter and area. The DD category is perimeter and area.

Skip count in the car to practice! Come up with fun rhymes! We need 100% mastery on facts.

Science-There are no upcoming assessments in Science. We will be learning about life cycles and ecosystems with hands on lessons, labs, and projects.

Social Studies-

Water Bottles

Please remember to send a water bottle with your child, so he or she will have something to drink throughout the day and can refill it as needed. We don't have access to our regular water fountains due to Covid.
