Homework: November 17-21

Your child's homework is posted in your child's ROCKET folder. Homework will be given to the students on Friday and then it is due by the following Friday.

Homework for this upcoming week is as follows:

Reading – at least 20 minutes nightly - initial in the box each day your child reads for at least 20 minutes. Also, remember to have them fillout their reading log

MathNovember Monthly Math Booklet - Complete Days 15-20 - We will collect the November Books this Friday. The December book will be put in folders until the week we get back from Thanksgiving.

Spelling - No spelling this week - Happy Thanksgiving!

*Fluency passages or list - your child's teacher may send additional homework to help with building reading fluency. At this time it is not sent home with every student. We will begin this with entire grade level after winter break.

*Homework Math Pages - you may have noticed that we do not complete all of the pages of the math packets that come home. The last page of the packet is actually homework pages. We are not sending these home as mandatory assignments. However, they are great practice for your child. Your child may complete the pages and earn $5 starbucks for practicing math skills at home.

AVID - Advancement Via Individual Determination

Rasor has become an AVID elementary school this year. Second expectations for AVID this year. The students are to write their first and last name at the top of the paper. If there is a name line on the paper, they write their name on the line. If there is not a name line, then they write their name on the top right hand side of the paper. Next semester we will add in the date under their name. We have started doing this on some papers. This is an expectation on each and every assignment we work on. When your child works on his/her homework, this is an expectation you should also have for them. Thank you for your support.
