Maker Faire!
Rick Phelan will be on campus between 8:30 and 10 on Tuesday with some robotics stuff. If you want to see what he brings, schedule some time to check him out.
Finally, we will have a parent night from 5:00 to 7:00 on Tuesday. There will be food trucks and lots of fun. Consider making an appearance if you are able.
Have a great week!

Postcards for Students
I will be giving you 4 more postcards at staff meeting this Monday. Think about some students that you would like to give some encouraging words. Your postcards mean a lot to our students.
ELA Performance Task
Third through Fifth Grade Teachers: The window for the ELA Performance Task is this week and next: 2/8 through 2/19. A set of administration instructions and protocol will be in your boxes Monday. Please make sure that you teach the 30 minute Classroom Activity one to two days prior to administering the first test. A copy of the classroom activity for your grade level will be provided for you along with the aforementioned administration instructions. Beth or Fred will be available to assist you in the lab, but you will be setting up your test session and on your laptop.
Staff Development Day
Our staff development day is coming up. We will be taking time to look at performance tasks, talk about what elements are important, and score student work. While it is different than previous Staff Development days, this work is a different kind of staff development and will support our school math goal. Please go with an open mind and find ways this work can support your grade level COI for Math Discourse which we started earlier in the year.
Night Custodian
We now have a full-time night custodian. This means that your rooms will be cleaned every other day. The exception to this is the Kindergarten and Pre-school which are cleaned every day.
Busy Thursday
This Thursday will be busy. Adele will be doing a performance first thing in the morning for some upper grade classes. At 11:00 we will be joined by visiting author Jory John. This author is for K-2 classes. Because it is during K/1 walk to read, we will need to cancel Thursday for K/1. Also, the author will likely be presenting through the recess time for K/1, so they should plan on eating first and having recess when the 4th and 5th grade students have recess.
