Dragon Weekly
Week of March 7
Information Overload?
Currently, the Dragon Weekly is divided into sections, similar to a daily newspaper:
- District News
- Mountainburg Elementary
- Mountainburg Middle School Brain Academy
- Mountainburg High School
- Dragon Athletics
- Counselors Corner
- Employment Opportunities
Images are used whenever possible to deliver information; however, sometimes, a link is necessary. These are in the form of a blue button that when clicked will take you to more information or to a website.
Over time, the Dragon Weekly may be organized differently. Our goal is to present information to you in an organized manner that is easy to read and understand so that parents and patrons are connected to Mountainburg Schools.

FACE Committee
The FACE Committee is important to our district because it links the community to the school.
Thank you Mrs. Dean for putting this together.
March is National Reading Month
Register for the FREE ACT Workshop
We have an opportunity to offer free ACT Prep virtually on March 11 from 9:00 to 12:00. This is a first come first serve opportunity and open to all students in high school but preference will be given to older students if we have to limit attendance.
If you are interested, please complete the form below or email Mrs. Cristee on Monday - courtney.cristee@mountainburg.org.
More ACT Assistance
The ACT NOW campaign encourages Arkansas high school students to take advantage of opportunities to take the ACT multiple times. Taking the ACT more than one time can result in increased scores, ultimately increasing opportunities for scholarships and admission to colleges, universities, and trade schools. Taking the ACT multiple times also provides students with opportunities to reflect on what they have learned to determine the best course to prepare for life after high school.

Courage: having bravery when facing new things, or situations you might be scared of without showing fear. Being Brave and facing something difficult without showing fear.
From Mrs. Daniel, MHS Counselor
All year, seniors have received emails about scholarships. These have also been posted in the Class of 2022 Google Classroom that Mrs. Daniel has set up.
SENIORS AND PARENTS:
- If your senior receives confirmation that he/she is awarded a scholarship, please make a copy of that letter and have it dropped off to Mrs. Daniel.
Please contact her if you have any questions regarding your student's transcript, registering for the ACT, and scholarships.

Exciting News from Arkansas Tech University!
What students need to know:
- The new tiers begin right now.
- If students have already accepted a scholarship offer, ATU will adjust their award if eligible.
- If students haven't accepted a scholarship offer, ATU will send a new offer if eligible for a higher award, so students need to be watching their email for instructions on how to accept it.
- If students earn more scholarship funds in the old scholarship tiers, their offer will be based on those.
The best news of all -- we are adjusting the renewal requirements to a cumulative 2.75 GPA, meaning it will be easier than ever for students to keep their scholarships once they're a student.
It may take a few weeks to get these offers out to students, please encourage them to be patient with us. Have questions about all this? No worries, just give us a call or email, and we'll do what we can to answer your questions!
