BEST Robotics Competition
Congratulations to Discovery High School on their successful run in the B.E.S.T (Boosting Engineering, Science & Technology) robotics competition last weekend. The Phoenix Force team took 4th place and are alternates for regionals. The team competed against 19 teams and was awarded the "Most Robust Machine" award and the "Best Rookie Team Game" award. This was the first year the district competed in the competition. We had six teams representing our schools and all of the students did an outstanding job showcasing their problem solving skills.

Widefield of Dreams ~ Sean Bolduc
Sean Bolduc is the go-to guy when it comes to hockey. The Widefield High School senior has been playing inline and ice hockey since he was four years old. Most recently, Sean’s inline hockey team played in the State Wars Roller Hockey tournament in Indiana. He scored seven goals helping his team take first place. Sean also plays goaltender on the varsity ice hockey team at Palmer High School. Sean said he loves the thrill and pressure during games, and really enjoys the camaraderie with his teammates. Sean wants to play hockey in college while studying business finance. He is currently looking at Davenport University. His dream is to play professionally, and if he got to pick the team it would be with the Arizona Coyotes.

Snow Day Limerick
Talbott STEAM Innovation School held a fun little contest this week in light of our snow days. A "Snow Day Limerick" contest to be exact. Here is the winning limerick...
There once was a day,
With roads slick as snot.
We had one day free, with one more,
Or so we thought.
But our DS said,
“No, ye shall not stay,
Ye shall go!”
And we yelled with one voice, “Thanks a lot, Mr C,
Our hard-hearted pha-roah!”
