Honors College
The Honors College innovative curriculum helps high-achieving students grow intellectually, broaden their educational experiences, and create what’s next. Through small class sizes, immersive internships, and individualized research opportunities, Honors College students are free to explore and forge their own educational paths.
Info for Prospective Students:
- To be considered for the Honors College, applicants must have applied for admission to Columbus State University.
- Students should complete the Honors College Application and submit it as directed on the application.
- Entering freshman will be selected on the basis of SAT/ACT scores, grade point average, class standing, honors, and participation in high school and community activities. (
- Admission requirements* for entering honors freshmen are:
- No College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) deficiencies (based on state of Georgia requirements) preventing regular admission to Columbus State University
- A high school academic GPA of 3.50 or higher,
- One of the following:
- At least an ACT composite score of 26 or the equivalent on the SAT, or
- Academically ranked in the top 10% of high school graduating class.
*For Fall 2021 students, the SAT/ACT is not required. If a student has the minimum GPA, please encourage them to apply.
Scholarship Amounts:
- Presidential Scholarship: $5,000 renewable for four (4) years
- Tower Scholarship: $2,500 renewable for four (4) years
- Both the Presidential & Tower Scholarships include a one time, $3,200 study abroad scholarship
- University Scholarship: $1,000 one-time scholarship
Servant Leadership Program
Info for Prospective Students:
- To be considered for the Servant Leadership Program, applicants must have applied for admission to Columbus State University.
- Complete the Servant Leadership Program Application and submit it as directed on the application.
- Email addresses for three references
- Three letters of recommendation
Scholarship Amount:
- $2,500 renewable for eight (8) semesters
Competitive Pre-Medical Studies Program
The Competitive Pre-Medical Studies program provides valuable resources to motivated students interested in pursuing a career as a physician. Boasting a 95% acceptance rate into medical school, the program will help students begin their successful path towards becoming a doctor. How do we best prepare students for the MCAT? We will guide them. Are your students ready to start connecting to the medical community? We will introduce them.
