Donors Choose - Ongoing

In 2000, Charles Best, a teacher at a Bronx public high school, wanted his students to read Little House on the Prairie. As he was making photocopies of the one book he could procure, Charles thought about all the money he and his colleagues were spending on books, art supplies, and other materials. And he figured there were people out there who'd want to help — if they could see where their money was going. Charles sketched out a website where teachers could post classroom project requests, and donors could choose the ones they wanted to support. His colleagues posted the first 11 requests. Then it spread. Today, Donors Choose is open to every public school in America.

Visitor Parking at the A.B. Gibson Building

Knowing that one element of great customer service is making sure our visitors and guests feel welcome, we have reserved several parking spots at the entrance of the Central Office for them. Please note that these are not to be used if you are a SCS employee and are coming to CO for training or a meeting. However, if you simply have to drop something off and will only be in the building 15 minutes or less, you can use the visitor parking to make a quick trip inside the building.

'On the Road in Scotland County'

We are continuing our series on Channel 15 - WPDE where weekly, as part of the 'On the Road' series, Scotland County Schools is highlighted.

Click on the video below to view the episode where the district's Principal of the Year, Dr. Mary Hemphill, is featured. Watch the program in its entirety if you can, but if you only have a few minutes, the segment featuring Dr. Hemphill starts at the 22:12 mark.
